Electrodialysis Process for Starch Syrup Purification
Electrodialysis (ED) is an advanced technology used for the purification of starch syrups, such as glucose, fructose, and maltose. This process involves the use of an electric field to drive the separation of ionic impurities from the syrup. The ions move through selective membranes, resulting in two separate streams: a demineralized stream (diluate) and a concentrated stream (concentrate).
